Postpartum Overnight Support
As your doula and a mother of three, I recognize and honor the early postpartum period as an extension of pregnancy, labor and birth, also called the fourth trimester. I deeply understand that welcoming and bringing home a new baby can spark a lot of emotions. From feeling excited and happy to finally be able to hold and snuggle your brand new baby, to anxious and exhausted.
It is no secret that our sweet babies don't arrive with a parent manual and that the first weeks/months of parenthood may feel overwhelming or challenging - especially if the words SLEEP and REST seem to be eliminated from your vocabulary. Would you believe me, when I tell you that you are a rockstar parent and it is totally normal and okay?

"Sleep while the baby sleeps" - is probably one of the most given suggestions to every new parent. And while it is given with a loving intention, it is easier said than done. Especially now, since you are taking care of a tiny human around the clock. And maybe there are younger siblings or fur babies that need your attention too, or your partner has only a short maternity leave and is heading back to work.

No matter what the reason may be, we all know that our bodies and (especially) our minds need rest and sleep in order to heal and function properly.

My goal during our overnights is for you and your partner to get as much rest as possible while I take care and watch over you baby/babies. And to feel refreshed and energized the next morning :)
I am here to guide and empower the both of you, as you confidently grow and thrive in your new roles as parents. I would like to make this transition into your new family dynamic and night time routine as smooth and relaxing as possible.

During our time together,
-
we will meet one time before the arrival of your baby, to talk about your wishes and preferences, and to get to know you, your family and your home
-
we will discuss Postpartum Healing tips, Newborn Care and Feeding tips and tricks, no matter if you are breastfeeding, bottle feeding or a combination of both.
-
I can help you create a postpartum plan for the first few weeks for a smooth transition
-
I will give you recommendations to local lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists, chiropractors, cranio-sacral therapists, etc., if needed
-
you will have access to my lending library :)
